When I asked Michelle & Ron to describe their relationship with 3 words, they chose; Friendship, Spontaneous and Loving. After getting to know them a little more I learned whey those were the words they chose.

“We need to see love poured forth. Like everything in life, it makes a lot more sense to us when it’s right before our eyes, when it’s enfleshed. And when we talk about love we can say all sorts of nice things about it, but when we see love lived out it makes so much more sense to us. And that’s why we come here today, knowing that that love is going to pour forth into our lives.” ~ Father Lachlan Cameron

The love between this couple and their families & friends was so apparent throughout our time with them. Whether is was how Kristen & Gerard looked at each other throughout the day, or how their friends spoke to their character, or the visible love and support they had from their families ~ The love in this love story is abundant and enfleshed for all to see.

Although every SMF couple is important to us, this couple has a very special place in our hearts. My baby bro got married! After filming their engagement film, we loved capturing their awesome stories of how it all started.

During our film prep I checked out Dana & Robert’s wedding website. This is where I learned of the Yiddush term ‘Bashert’, or destiny. On their site, Robert’s Mother describes Bashert as, one’s divinely foreordained spouse or soulmate. I was intrigued.  After spending time with Dana & Robert and conducting their ‘conversations on film’, I knew exactly what Mrs. Lori Gross (Robert’s mom) was referring to.

“It’s about being on the same team and knowing that someone always has your back.” ~ Lee.

Lee & Ben met at NYU and fell in love through their friendship. After a very sweet proposal in Prospect Park they began to plan their Brooklyn Museum wedding… and SMF was honored to capture their day and their story.

Before sending out our final films I like to sit down with a cup of coffee, pop in the dvd, sit back and enjoy each couple’s story. My daughter and father just happened to be in the room during the screening of Jennifer & David’s film. Isabelle (my 13 month old daughter) was smitten with David from the beginning. Every time he was on the screen she would point and smile. My father was also quite impressed with the couple. At the end of the film he paused and said; What a great couple. Please tell them I said ‘God Bless’. Jennifer & David are a great couple and we were honored to be invited into their family’s home to be part of such a special occasion.

“I never believed in soul mates and I don’t know if I still believe in the whole theory, as much as I can be romantic, that’s maybe a little rainbow and unicorny for me… but the closest thing I will find to it is him… He was made for me.”

-Ali. (bride)

The story of Ali & Darrell caught us from the very beginning. A Canadian and an American meet while hiking in Peru during the holidays of 2010. A few years later we were honored to capture their vows in the Hamptons.

As many of you know, Tim and I had a baby girl 7 months ago… Wow! That went by so quickly. Needless to say, many tears were shed while cutting this parent dance/speech sequence.
